A book the hero of which is Bernard Cromwell

From Books of Bernard Cromwell

"Murat's Legend" is a novel in which one of the main characters is Bernard Cromwell himself. The story is set in Normandy, which is described as a part of the British Empire since A.D. 1450 (i.e. since the end of the Hundred Years' War), and takes place nowadays. The character of Bernard Cromwell plays an important part in the novel's narrative and in some ways you might wonder if the real Bernard Cromwell did not write the book himself... As regards the literary genre of the book, it appears as both an historical novel and a uchronia whose point of divergence is the last year of the Hundred Year's War (1450). More generally, this alternate history book asks the interesting question, "What if history had developed differently ?" or what if an important part of the kingdom of France had been conquered by the English in the XVth century ? Also, it focuses on what a writer like Bernard Cromwell would be writing about in such an historical context.
